This is a very special guitar. It is a mid-sized guitar, my Forest IIID model. The body is a beautiful and rare Brazilian Rosewood which in itself makes this a lovely sounding guitar. This is also a double top guitar, making the top very rigid, and thus significantly increasing the sensitivity of the sound board. The result is a guitar with amazing tone from bass to mid tones, to the treble end. It is crisp, and has a very quick attack. It is also inherently louder due to the way a double top pushes the air.
The rosette is an attractive spalted maple collage. As with all Blackwood instruments, the neck is multi-ply for strength, resistance to twist, and best of all it adds to sustain. It is made of walnut/maple/ebony/maple/walnut for a very rich presentation. The feel of walnut is just plain sweet.
The guitar is finished with hand applied french polished shellac. This is a flexible, thin coating that is the best for sound. It is slightly softer than sprayed on finishes, so I have added and over sized clear pick guard.
